I’ve seen quite a few unidentified flying objects, but none were alien spaceships or anything like that.

You really can’t be sure about that. I’m happy to help clarify.
Are you asking about the most compelling evidence related to aliens? I’ve never seen any. I’ve seen plenty of unidentifiable flying objects, but they didn’t convince me that aliens are involved.

“Aliens” could still be a reasonable explanation.
@Zoren
It’s not fair to jump to aliens unless there’s real proof. Every time someone claims they have proof, it turns out to be fake or not actually convincing. It’s a weak explanation, just as much as faith can be.
@Ben
Your explanation is no better than any others you dismiss. There are reasonable doubts to account for all the UFO sightings you’re labeling as something else.

You think aliens, who have never been seen, are more plausible than either a) something we’ve observed before or b) phenomena we still don’t understand? That’s irrational. A more logical conclusion is that our explanations are just better right now.
@Ben
When you say they’ve never been observed by you, you’re ignoring the countless testimonies of people claiming sightings, many recorded by credible witnesses. Calling them insane without consideration is foolish.
@Ira
Lots of UFOs have been seen, but there’s no solid proof of aliens. Sorry you’ve come to me wrongly or your friend made me take part to argue on their behalf.

No dirty tricks here. Just keep in mind that the usual beliefs and attitudes about aliens can keep people away from more sensible discussions. I’d recommend looking into documented cases instead of making assumptions.
@Ira
Experience in science and real thinking is key. The world doesn’t just have a perfect record, and sometimes things get lost. Our memories can be messy too.

I have plenty of experience too, having worked closely with professionals and experts. It’s true there’s a lot to consider. But dismissing all evidence is simply ignoring what’s been documented.
@Ben
What would happen if it turned out that some of these sightings are genuine? That humans might not be the only intelligent species? Sure, being skeptical is good, but not to the point where it blocks you from wondering.
@Sam
Most folks are prepared for the thought that we might not be alone. Yet, most of the intelligent life talk worries me. I think understanding physical phenomena that are hard to identify is way more important. For instance, the discovery of water evaporating in unexpected ways just recently. There’s so much we still don’t know.
Objectivity is so important in this matter. Approaching it from an analytical viewpoint is necessary for growth.

Let’s not cling to absurd beliefs just for fun. Real evidence is what we need, anything else ends up being speculation.
