I had a drone before that cost about $40, but it broke. Now, I’m thinking of spending more money on a better drone. My budget is around $200 to $350, and I want something beginner-friendly that I can learn to fly with and also take decent photos and videos. What do you think of the DJI Neo? Does it meet my needs?

The Potensic Atom might be a good choice. I was in your position a year ago and got the Atom Fly More Combo, which is close to your budget. It’s been great, and even after a few crashes, it’s still working fine.
@Ari
Is this a good pick for someone who’s just starting? Are there enough guides and resources to help with learning?

Yes, there’s a solid user manual. I’ve seen plenty of YouTube tutorials. Plus, there’s a really helpful Facebook group where people are always supportive. I even contacted customer service once, and they helped me out and even sent a free t-shirt!
@Ari
I just wanted to add that I’m a beginner too, and the Atom has been perfect for learning. It’s affordable now, and you can always upgrade later.
How about a second-hand DJI Mini 2 with the Fly More Combo? It’s a solid option.

Where can I find it second-hand? I’m worried about the price if it’s new. It might be too expensive for me.
@Brier
You can find one second-hand with the Fly More Combo for around £300, at least in my local CeX store. It’s a great drone and, since it’s under 250g, you won’t have to worry about UK drone laws much. I recommend CeX for second-hand deals in the UK, or you can try eBay.
I think the DJI Mini 4K is a good choice. You won’t regret it.
The Potensic Atom SE is pretty good for the price. Some people recommend spending more for the DJI, but I’ve been really happy with it. I paid $249 with two batteries, and I’m enjoying it. I’m even adding a charging dock and an extra battery to my Christmas list!
@Baylen
At first, I thought ‘follow me, hand gestures’ was some new influencer term, but I now realize you meant gestures for the drone.

By the way, if you send this photo from Amazon to Ruko, they will match the price and throw in a free accessory.

Leave it to Siri to mess up the name.
The DJI Mavic Mini series is probably the best choice for you. It might be worth waiting until Black Friday or Cyber Monday for deals.
- Wait for Black Friday deals.
- Look out for a DJI Mini 3, especially if you can stretch your budget to $350. But avoid going for the Fly More Combo right now. You’ll be wasting a lot of your money on extra batteries, which can always be added later. For now, focus on getting a good drone and camera, and get extra batteries once you’re sure it’s the right fit.
The DJI Mini 4K is $260 new.
