Why can’t I get this bolt loose… what am I doing wrong?

You might need a 3/4" drive breaker bar with a matching socket and extension. A lot of people break 1/2" tools on bolts like these.

Yep, 3/4" drive for sure.

This is the way to go for bolts that won’t budge.

Some folks wedge a breaker bar against the ground and bump the starter. Just make sure you’re careful if you try that.

Did this on my EJ25 crank pulley. Made timing service way easier without pulling the radiator.

They make special sockets for stubborn crank bolts. Pair it with an electric impact wrench, and you’ll be set.

This is exactly the kind of problem an impact gun solves in seconds.

Check if it’s left-handed threads. Some vehicles have them, depending on the engine’s rotation direction.

Nice!
