Will learning a foreign language disappear soon? My parents only know our native language and now many videos on the internet have audio translations for them… Is tech changing everything?

Relying only on AI for communication feels impersonal. Language is about more than words—it’s about culture and connection. Being able to express yourself in someone else’s language builds trust and shows respect.

Someday, we might not need to learn languages, but that time isn’t here yet.

While tools like live translation are helpful, they can miss cultural nuances and idioms. What do you think about the gaps in understanding when using only technology?

My headphones translate conversations in real time—it’s amazing. But sometimes I wonder why I’m still learning Mandarin. In a few years, this tech will probably be good enough for most situations.

With accurate real-time translation, you won’t have to learn a language, but nothing will stop you from doing it if you want to.

It’s up to us. There are plenty of skills we don’t need anymore but still practice because we enjoy them. Tech can’t replace everything.

Are you an AI? Just curious.

People will still learn languages for fun, but it won’t be necessary for work or business. English might eventually become the universal second language.

Learning a language sharpens your mind and is super rewarding. No shortcuts or tech can replace that experience.

No way. That’s not happening anytime soon.

With AI translation getting so good, you might not need to learn a new language… unless you’re somewhere you can’t use devices.

Maybe not in a few years, but eventually learning languages might not be necessary. AI is making things easier, but it’s also leading us toward a weird future. Hopefully, we don’t lose what makes us human in the process.
