I’ve been enjoying FPV sims on Steam, but I thought it would be even better to have a full-fledged game. Couldn’t find one, so I’m making my own. Nexus FPV is ready for wishlist on Steam. Check it out if that sounds interesting.
This looks very cool. Have you seen Descent? It’s an older game some of us loved back in the day.

I get the reference. Descent was great.

Yeah, I’m a huge fan of Descent. It’s a classic and definitely an influence.
@Gale
Same here. Descent was so fun. That vertical movement was intense, and it gave me scuba diver vibes where you can’t tell which way is up.
If you connect this to an FPV drone controller and add realistic drone physics, it could be an excellent training tool. Maybe even get a sponsorship from drone companies.

The music from Descent was unforgettable.
This could end up being how the next generation of digital drone soldiers get their start… Looks awesome though.

Or it’s training data for some defence AI to learn how to operate drones in real scenarios.
@Whit
That’s already happening, unfortunately.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, you can wishlist it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3365170/Nexus_FPV_Drone_Shooter/
@Gale
Wishlisted it already.
This looks amazing. Can’t wait to try it.
This is now on my wishlist. Any chance it’ll support Linux?

Proton should handle it fine. Most games work with Proton unless they have very specific technical issues.

You’re probably right, but I think using remote control hardware with a PC might be one of those tricky cases.
What if someone made a game that’s like a mix of Quidditch, Rocket League, and FPV drones?

You could do that with modes like deathmatch or capture the flag, which are popular in shooters.
This could work as a game with live drone feeds too. Imagine drones shooting and AR turning objects into explosions and scoring points.
I love that you just said ‘so I’m making it’. Good on you for taking action.
The remix of Paul’s Dream is fantastic.
