D: Drive acting weird after waking up from sleep... anyone else?

Hey everyone, I’ve been having some issues with my D drive SSD, which I mainly use for games. When I wake my PC from sleep mode, sometimes I can’t launch apps like BNET and Steam. It’s super frustrating! After a reboot, everything works fine, and the drive shows up normally in CHKDisk and CrystalDisk. I’m not sure if I should just format it or try a CHKDisk /f. Any thoughts?

Sounds like it might be a driver issue. Have you checked if your motherboard drivers are up to date? Does this only happen when waking from sleep?

Yeah, it seems to only happen after sleep, not all the time though. The drive sometimes shows as RAW when it acts up.

RAW? What’s that mean?

If it’s showing as RAW, that’s not good. You might want to back up your files ASAP just in case!

Totally, I’m planning to back it up soon. Just sad since it’s only 2 years old.

Have you tried testing the SSD in another computer? Might give you a better idea of what’s going on.

Not yet, it’s kinda hard to reach. It’s under a shield and my GPU covers it.

Could it be overheating? If it’s crammed under the GPU, that might cause issues.

That’s a good point. I’ll keep an eye on the temps!

I’d start by swapping out the SATA cable or trying a different power cable. Sometimes it’s the little things that trip us up.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll give that a shot.
