Hey, I just received a right to sue letter from the EEOC and honestly not sure what my next steps should be. Anyone dealt with this before? Would appreciate any advice.
I had the same thing a while back. It can be confusing, but basically, you have 90 days to file a lawsuit if you want to. Have you talked to a lawyer yet?

No, not yet. I’m kinda stuck on what category my case falls under, tbh.
@Eli
Yeah, it’s a lot to figure out. Do you know if your claim is about discrimination, retaliation, or something else?
@Eli
FYI, you can get free legal advice from some sites. I used that when I had no idea what I was doing lol.
Did the EEOC give you any info about what the claim was filed as? Sometimes they file it under a specific type, like racial discrimination or retaliation.

Yeah, they said it’s a racial discrimination case, but I think there’s more to it because I also dealt with retaliation. It’s a mess.
@Eli
Oh, that sucks! You might be able to add those extra claims when you file the lawsuit. Better to talk to a lawyer ASAP.
I’ve heard that some lawyers won’t take on cases against schools. Is that true?

Yeah, that’s what I’ve run into. Seems like no one wants to touch it because it’s a school case. It’s frustrating.

Same thing happened to me! I ended up finding a lawyer online who was willing to help. Don’t give up!
When I got my right to sue letter, I was confused too. Just make sure to act fast because that 90-day deadline sneaks up on you!
