The school had a ‘pre-ARD meeting’ with me, and they asked if I wanted to drop the formal grievance I filed. I’m not sure if I should. Has anyone else been through this? What should I consider before making a decision?
I wouldn’t drop it unless you feel like they’ve fully addressed your concerns. Have they given you a plan in writing?

No, nothing in writing yet. I’ll probably wait until they do that before deciding.

Yeah, having something in writing makes sure they’re held accountable.
What exactly is a ‘pre-ARD meeting’? Never heard of it.

It’s a meeting they do before the formal ARD to discuss things informally and try to resolve issues.

Got it! So it’s kind of like a prep meeting before the actual ARD?
I wouldn’t rush to dismiss it. Once you drop the complaint, it’s harder to bring it up again if things don’t get fixed.

That’s my worry too. I’m going to hold off for now until I see more action.
Did they offer any specifics on what they’re going to do? I wouldn’t drop it until you know for sure they’re going to follow through.

They mentioned improving communication, but nothing concrete yet. I’ll wait until I see more.
Keep monitoring the situation to make sure the changes they promised actually happen before you decide.

Yeah, I’ll definitely keep an eye on things before making any decisions.
