Whenever I hold a button, it keeps triggering that button repeatedly. For example, in Fortnite, I can’t get out of a car by holding ‘E’ because it just keeps counting it as a press. In Minecraft, if I hold ‘Esc’, the menu opens and closes repeatedly. I tried this with another keyboard, and it works fine. Hoping you guys can help me figure this out!
Sorry to hear that! You might want to try adjusting the repeat rate. Go to Control Panel > Keyboard > Speed Tab, and lower the ‘Repeat rate’ or increase the ‘Repeat delay.’ If that doesn’t work, check if any sticky keys or accessibility settings are enabled. Since another keyboard works fine, it might be a hardware issue with this one.
Sounds frustrating! If adjusting the settings doesn’t help, using the working keyboard might be the best option. You could consider selling the other one if it’s not faulty.
You could also try updating your keyboard drivers. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause weird behavior. Give that a shot!
Have you checked the keyboard’s settings in any dedicated software? Sometimes manufacturers have specific settings that can affect how keys respond.
If it’s a gaming keyboard, look for any macro settings that might be enabled. Those can sometimes cause unexpected behavior.
