I have good internet connections and everything. I have a physical LAN cable running from the modem, or possibly from the router, to my PS4 located in the other room. I am wondering if it is as simple as some have suggested online, which is to switch off the router or the WiFi extender’s reboot schedule.
Yes, a scheduled reboot on your router or WiFi extender can cause intermittent LAN disconnections, so try disabling any automatic reboot settings or check for loose connections in the LAN cable setup.
Could be a bad cable if it’s in an area where people can step on it or move it accidentally.
A few things could cause it. Reboot your equipment. Something could be in conflict with your PS4; is anything else in the house also going offline at the same time? What’s the health of the cable? Is it a decent, healthy, new cable? Are the connections seated and clicked in at both ends? Have you reconnected both ends? How long is the length of the cable? Do you have a powerline adapter in place? If so, what else is on that outlet? Have you reconnected both ends and made sure it’s on a dedicated outlet?
It could be a bad cable, a faulty Ethernet port (either on the PS4 or the router/modem), or a dying router/modem. What happens when you try to connect to the WiFi? Is that an option for you?
It’s a software bug related to the PS5 in general. I encounter similar issues on my base PS5 when connected to Ethernet, so I use WiFi instead. Apparently, if you have both a WiFi connection and Ethernet connected, it can lead to this problem.
