Is my car overfilled with oil... or is it fine?

I recently had my oil changed and just noticed something odd. The oil level seems a bit high. Is this a problem or is it okay?

No, you’re good.

It’s maybe a quarter of a quart over, but nothing to worry about.

Nope. Totally fine.

Depends on how many times you’ve checked it, as you’ll drag oil up the dipstick tube. That could give a false reading. It looks a little over, but if you’ve been driving it without any issues, I wouldn’t stress about it.

@West
I’ve driven about 500 miles since the oil change, and it seems to run fine.

You’re fine. It probably just looks a little over because all the old oil hadn’t drained out when the filter was replaced. Run it for a couple of days and recheck.

Looks overfilled, but try checking it again when the engine is stone cold for a more accurate reading.

You’re good.

Use a paper towel, don’t waste a microfiber.
