Is there a public resource for drone tracking like flight radar?

I’m trying to find a way to integrate drone flight data (if it exists) into an app.

No, there isn’t a resource like that. RiD only tracks drones within a few hundred meters, and if no one’s actively scanning at the time, it won’t get recorded or tracked. The whole RID system doesn’t really work as promised, honestly. Personally, I’m glad it doesn’t.

@Shane
FAA is a joke. They can’t even complete basic rule-making tasks that were ordered by Congress.

@Shane
Don’t drone operators publish their flight data somewhere online?

Why would they do that?

Most FPV drone users don’t use remote ID at all. I don’t want my location tracked while having fun. Also, nearly everyone doesn’t have a reason to log or share their flights publicly.

@Hollis
What’s FPV? And what are the reasons behind it?

FPV means First Person View. And I don’t want to share where and when I’m flying. It’s nobody’s business, and I don’t see why anyone would want to be tracked voluntarily.

@Hollis
Our idea was to track drone sightings in New Jersey on a map. We thought there would be some kind of database, like the one for civilian airplanes. Guess not.

Oh god, not this. There’s no drone invasion. It’s just internet trolling and people freaking out. Even if there were some kind of invasion, why would the drones publicly record their location for everyone to see?

@Hollis
Maybe, but it would still be fun to try. Oh well.

There’s no such thing as a drone ‘invasion.’ There have been a few mistaken sightings, maybe some experimental planes, but then people just started freaking out. It’s mostly nonsense. Isn’t it weird that no verified drones have been caught, crashed, or filmed? Zero! It’s all just made up.

Operators can’t share the data they aren’t collecting themselves.

So if I fly a drone, I can’t share its flight data anywhere?

@Leighton
You can, but you’d have to do it manually. There isn’t a centralized place for it.

Ah, okay. A friend of mine said there was one.

Haha… Nope.

I’m looking for a database with API access.
