Is there any way to lock screen without making apps stop?

I like to play Kapwing in the background (free app that lets you copy and paste YouTube videos). I don’t want my younger relatives messing around on my computer when I have music or workouts playing. But I also don’t want to lock the screen the usual way because then Kapwing freezes. Is there a way to keep the screen as is while locking it? Like, do I have to resubmit my password to get back into my account? I’m using a typical Windows 11 desktop.

Why not just unplug your keyboard and mouse? You don’t need to lock it then.

That’s a good idea! I didn’t think of that. Just plug them back in when you need to use it, right?

Yeah, but what if you need to check something quickly? Wouldn’t that be a hassle?

True, I guess it depends on how often you need to use it. Maybe just keep it handy.

IDK if there’s a way to lock it without stopping the app, but maybe check the settings in Kapwing? Sometimes there are hidden options.

I’ll look into that. Thanks for the tip!

Have you tried running it in a separate window? That might help keep it active.

I haven’t, but I’ll give that a shot! Thanks!

What do you mean by ‘lock the screen’? Like, just making it inactive but keeping everything running?

Yeah, that’s what they’re asking. Just want to keep the music playing without interruptions.
