Issue with 3 monitor setup

Hey all, hoping someone can assist with an issue I’m having in my home office. I have a Dell Latitude 5440 laptop running Windows 11 connected to a Dell WD19S docking station, and I’m using 3 monitors (2 27” Dell S2721NXs and 1 24” Dell S2421NX). The WD19S has only 1 HDMI output, so I’m using HDMI to DisplayPort adapters for the S2721NXs. The problem is that a couple of times a day, both S2721NXs go black and either say there’s no input detected or the input comes back distorted. Unplugging and replugging the HDMI fixes it for a bit. Is converting HDMI to DisplayPort not recommended, or could this be a docking station issue? I can get another WD19S from my employer if needed. Also, does anyone know of a docking station with 3 HDMI outputs? Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like a potential issue with the adapters or the docking station. HDMI to DisplayPort conversions can sometimes be finicky, especially with multiple monitors. Have you tried using different adapters?

I’d recommend testing with a different docking station if possible. The WD19S might not be handling the load well with those adapters. As for a docking station with 3 HDMI outputs, you might want to check out models from brands like Plugable or CalDigit.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll look into getting different adapters first and maybe reach out for a new docking station from my employer.

Also, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Sometimes display issues can be resolved with a simple driver update.

Good point! I’ll check the drivers too. Appreciate all the help!
