Just got my drone… anyone else into this?

I was happy with my Mavic Pro, but it was time to move on. I bought the Mini 3 with the Fly More combo. Batteries are charging right now, and I’m planning to try it out tomorrow.

That’s great news. Hope you enjoy it .

Thanks! Can’t wait to take it out.

Did you get the Mini 3 Pro? The camera on it is amazing for its size. I use D-Conelike for better options in post-editing color and contrast. The filters you got will be super useful too. I even tried the anamorphic adapter, and it’s been brilliant for music video work. I’ve used it in some recent projects, and it’s a game changer. You’re going to have a lot of fun.

That’s awesome. Let us know how it compares. I’ve got my first drone, a Mini 4K, arriving tomorrow, and I’m so excited to get started. I’m already thinking about the controller, though, because I’m worried my phone screen won’t handle the heat well.

@Haven
I’m about to buy the Mini 4K too. I’m not thrilled about using my phone as a screen, but I’m more worried about the lack of obstacle sensors. Got any tips for a beginner?

Always keep your eyes on the drone, and don’t go for shots that are too close to obstacles. Mini drones are great for beginners, but their arms are fragile and snap easily if you crash. Play it safe, and you’ll enjoy it.

@Zuri
Good advice. Thanks .

@Zuri
Totally agree. I had the Mavic Pro for years, and this one feels so tiny in comparison.

Start practicing in open spaces to get used to the controls. Remember, when the drone is flying toward you, the controls feel reversed. Just take your time to get comfortable before flying near obstacles.

@Pax
Also, wind can really mess with your drone. Use an app like UAV Forecast to check the conditions before flying. Drones are built to handle some weather, but strong winds can lead to crashes or even losing the drone.

I got the Mini 4K as my first drone too. The bottom sensor is handy for landing, but I learned the hard way that battery life can catch you off guard. Mine auto-landed in someone’s backyard when the battery was low. Thankfully, the app helped me find it, safe and sound.

@Haven
Congrats on the Mini 4K. It’s my first drone too, and I’ve been loving it. Easy to use, and the video quality is just amazing.

Do you think it’s okay to get a drone without obstacle sensors? I’m on a budget but leaning toward the 3 Pro or 4 Pro for the larger sensor and better features. Any advice?

Your eyes are the best sensors! Even with obstacle sensors, crashes happen. Sensors are helpful but not perfect, especially with thin branches or power lines. If you’re worried, consider getting DJI Care Refresh.

@Zuri
Wait, does DJI Care work in your country? If not, you’ll have to be extra careful.

No, it doesn’t. My government banned DJI drones, so no coverage here.

You can still fly safely without sensors if you know the area well and stay cautious. I’ve used drones for years and never had an accident.

Which ND filter set are you using?
