I really need help with my car. The problem seems to be that no gas is getting to the engine. Could it be that the fuel line came loose inside the gas tank or something else? I need some advice as soon as possible!
Thanks for posting your question on this forum, IYC!
If you’re asking for help, make sure to include all the important details like the year, make, model, mileage, engine size, and whether it’s an automatic or manual transmission.
It’s a 2013 Chevy Malibu with a 2.5L engine. It’s just not getting gas to the motor. What could be causing this?

First thing, check if there are any error codes and make sure the car actually has fuel in it.
Sometimes the immobilizer can stop the fuel pump or injectors from working. You can test if the problem is with the fuel pump or the system disabling it by jumping the relay. If the pump doesn’t run when you jump the relay, the pump might be bad.
The low-pressure pump is in the gas tank, while the high-pressure pump is on the engine, driven by the camshaft. If the high-pressure pump fails, it usually throws a code for insufficient pressure. Running the car with a very low tank can damage the high-pressure pump since it uses fuel for lubrication.

I already replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump module. Could the connection to the new pump have come loose or disconnected?
@Lex
I’ve already checked the relays and most of what you mentioned. I still can’t figure it out, man. I’m lost.

Does the pump even turn on? If the new one doesn’t work, it might be a bad ground wire or a loose connection.
@Lex
To be honest, I don’t really know what the ground wire is or how to check that.
