My Windows 11 only works with Memtest USB plugged in... any ideas?

Hey everyone! So, I’ve been having this weird issue with my Windows 11 setup. I just did some maintenance on my PC, like cleaning dust and changing thermal paste, but now it only runs if I have my Memtest USB connected. What’s going on? Anyone else experienced something like this?

That sounds super frustrating! Did you mess with the SSD order? I’ve heard that can cause boot issues.

Yeah, I did change the SSD order… maybe that’s why?

Could be! Try putting it back and see if that helps.

I had a similar issue once. It turned out to be bad RAM. Have you checked yours?

I haven’t checked the RAM yet… I’m waiting for an adapter to arrive. What should I look for?

Just test each stick one by one and see if the PC boots without the USB. That might give you a clue.

Have you tried resetting the BIOS? Sometimes that can fix weird boot issues.

I messed with the BIOS settings a bit but didn’t reset it. I’ll try that next!

It’s odd that it only works with the Memtest USB. Maybe it’s bypassing a boot issue with Windows?

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. Just weird that it keeps looping back to blue screens.

If all else fails, maybe consider reinstalling Windows? Just back up your files first!

Sounds like a plan! I just hope I don’t lose anything from my main drive.
