If you’re paying $50+/month for streaming services, and switch to a $5 VPN or something, please consider directing some, if not all of that $45 to independent artists directly. Obviously, this doesn’t apply if you just can’t afford it anymore.
Something I realized recently is that piracy has become so easy that if someone does it once, they have no real reason to go back.
I know the original image is about movies / TV shows, but recently I was able to play Silent Hill 2 on an emulator. The I process was simple and quick. So now, even if the publisher made that game easier to access, I’d have no reason to buy the rerelease.
They basically lost their chance to sell me that game. The same will apply to any movies that suddenly stop being accessible. Once I’ve pirated a copy, I will NEVER pay to see it again.
unlimited content might be a stretch, there’s certainly some obscure media that isn’t really shared and if it is you might have to acquire it in sub optimal quality
