The most recent price hike was the last straw for me. Traded $50+ a month in streaming services for a $5 mullvad subscription.

My wife yelled at me for wanting to buy Deadpool and Wolverine. This immediately reminded me I’m a thief and made me question myself again. Back to being a pirate!

That nsync opening hit me hard!

Once my college kids and teens are paying for their own services, this is the route I’m going. At the moment though I’m paying mostly just for their convienence more than it is my sanity

Actually, I find a lot more payload on Usenet. Way faster and more stuff, I’ve left vpn and torrents mostly behind.

Really … I thought we moved on from the 90’s

I’m going through this right now. I realize inflation is a thing that exists and everything is going up but traditionally tech goes the opposite way. I used to pay $100 a month for cell service and have limited minutes. Now I have unlimited talk and data and it’s less than half as much. It really feels like steaming services are breaking it off in you just because they can, like the Patrice O’Neal bit. I’ve got Netflix, Disney, Hulu, ESPN and they are all probably gonna get the axe.

It really pissed me off that I was paying for the 4k Netflix plan and I couldn’t watch content in 4k on my pc which is how I watch all my content.

Wait, what the eff is this?

Go back to pirating, using a vpn to mask who and where you are.

I think most use qBitTorrent now. I haven’t torrented in years, but our family each has a streaming subscription that we all share login info. I still use a program to rip audio from yt music videos.

Edit to change BitTorrent to qBitTorrent like i typed twice and fucking autocorrect still said fuck you, imma spell what I want.

where do you get your movies? I already have VPN. LOL
