Pelleted Bedding for normal cat litter substitute?

Hello!

I saw a TikTok (uh oh, I know lol) yesterday, and I believe they were using tractor supply’s pelleted horse and small animal bedding. I have used it for my horses and had amazing luck with fragrance, absorbency, and dust management, but I was wondering whether others use it or anything different.

I have one adult cat and potentially two kittens, if that helps—litter boxes cleaned at least once a day.

I just converted my two horses to the horse pellet bedding from the farm supply store. It took a bit for the older, more resistant cat to buy in, but it now appears to be working properly.

Did you notice an improvement in odour when compared to regular cat litter?

It is hard to say. I have had the windows open for the majority of the time I have been using it, so I am not sure if the absence of scent is due to a lack of smell or a steady flow of fresh air. When I am right next to the litter boxes, the only thing I smell is sawdust. One of the primary reasons I switched was that there was hardly little litter dust.

I will mention that it does not mask the stench of their #2s, which lingers longer and is harsher. I had to leave my home office the other day because my old man dropped a deuce in the closet litter box!

lol! I loved it for the dust and pine/wood fragrance when I used it on horses, but I know cat urine has a greater odour. Thank you!!
