Weekend workouts and brain health... anyone tried it?

Hey everyone, I recently read that working out on weekends can boost your brain health. Even if you’re only exercising on Saturdays and Sundays, it might help with stress, memory, and overall mental well-being. Has anyone here tried being a weekend warrior? Would love to hear your thoughts

Yeah, I’ve been doing weekend workouts and definitely feel less stressed during the week. Plus, I think my memory has improved a bit lol

Same here! I only have time on weekends, and it really helps me unwind

Do you do high-intensity workouts or something more chill?

Mostly high-intensity interval training. It’s quick and gets the job done :muscle:

What does HIIT stand for?

High-Intensity Interval Training. Short bursts of intense exercise followed by rest

I heard that exercise increases blood flow to the brain and helps with neurogenesis. Is that true?

Yeah, it’s been shown to boost cognitive functions and even lower the risk of diseases like dementia

Neurogenesis? What’s that exactly?

It’s the process of forming new neurons in the brain. Helps with memory and learning

I’ve been a weekend warrior for a while now. Noticed my sleep quality has improved too

Same here! Better sleep makes such a difference in my daily life

Do you combine cardio and strength training?

Yeah, I mix it up. Keeps things interesting and effective

Is there a risk of overexertion if you only work out on weekends?

Definitely possible. Make sure to listen to your body and not push too hard

Maybe incorporate some light activity during the week to stay consistent

How do you stay motivated to exercise just on weekends?

I choose activities I enjoy, like hiking or cycling. Makes it easier to stick with
