Hey folks… I’m really struggling here. My 7-year-old has been sexually harassed by a 9-year-old in his class at a CPS school in Chicago. We’ve had 5 incidents reported since January 2024. The school says they can’t move the other kid without their parents’ approval, and we’ve had to keep our son home since the last incident. What rights do we have in this situation? Any thoughts would be super helpful!
That’s just terrible… I can’t believe the school isn’t taking it seriously. Have you considered legal advice?
Wow, I’m so sorry to hear that. Have you tried reaching out to the district? They might have more influence.
That sounds so tough… just know that there are people who understand. I had a similar experience with my kid.
It’s outrageous that the school is allowing this to continue. You have every right to ensure your child feels safe.
Have you lodged a complaint with the district? That might give you some leverage if the school isn’t acting.
