What should I do if my Chromebook won't start?

Hey everyone! :star2: I woke up excited to finish my project on my Chromebook, but when I pressed the power button, nothing happened! :scream: I can’t afford to lose my work and I’m feeling super stressed. Is there any way to troubleshoot this? I’ve tried charging it and even the hard reset, but still nothing. What should I do if my Chromebook won’t start? Thanks for your help!:computer:

Sometimes the charger itself might be faulty. If you have access to another charger, give it a shot to see if that helps!

Make sure the power button isn’t stuck. Give it a gentle press and see if that makes a difference.

Sometimes, it takes a while for a completely drained battery to wake up. Leave it charging for at least 30 minutes, then try turning it on again.

It could be that the Chromebook is on but the display isn’t working. Try connecting it to an external monitor to check if you can see anything there.

See if any LED lights are on when you press the power button. A lit charge indicator means it’s receiving power, which could be a good sign!

You mentioned you tried this, but double-check if you did it correctly. For many Chromebooks, holding the Refresh key and then pressing the Power button can help.

If there are any unusual sounds (like fans spinning or clicking), it might indicate it’s turning on but something else is wrong.

If you can get into recovery mode, you might be able to access files or reset the system without losing your work.
