Hey guys, I have been noticing a lot of buzz about the Elantra recently. While the Sonata SEL is only a few thousand more, I can’t help but feel claustrophobic in compact sedans with all the SUVs on the road. I’m not even a big guy. Has anyone else felt this way? What are your thoughts on choosing between the Elantra and the Sonata SEL?
Depending on the trim level, the Elantra may offer advanced technology and features that are appealing, such as a modern infotainment system and driver-assistance technologies, potentially at a lower price point than the Sonata.
If I had the extra cash, I would still purchase the Elantra as it seems like a superior vehicle. Afterward, I would research technology, but the Elantra would still be my choice.
Choose the Hyundai Elantra over the Sonata if you want a more compact, efficient car. The Elantra offers better fuel economy because of its smaller size, making it a great choice for those prioritizing efficiency. While the Sonata is speedy and composed, the Elantra excels in urban maneuverability and cost-effective driving.
I’ve been wrestling with the same decision. I recently test-drove both the Elantra and the Sonata SEL, and while the Elantra is a great car, I couldn’t shake the feeling of being dwarfed by all the SUVs around me. I’m not a particularly large person, but the Sonata SEL felt more spacious and comfortable, which helped with my claustrophobia. Plus, for just a few thousand more, the Sonata offers better features and a smoother ride. Ultimately, I went with the Sonata SEL for the extra space and peace of mind on the road.
Elantra gives better mpgs, but I got my sonata because I wanted something bigger than my mazda3. The SEL with convenience was more than enough for me to be happy.
