So I’m trying to reset my Windows computer to wipe everything before giving it to my younger sibling, but every time I try to reset it to factory settings, it freezes at 60%. It gets all the way to the last step where it says it’s setting things up to reset, but then nothing happens… anyone know how to fix this?
Just do a clean install using a USB installation media.
Reinstall Windows from USB, here’s a good page with detailed instructions. Reset/refresh is a flawed procedure, you can’t really fix it.
Well that’s trash from Windows, what a bad delivered product, thank you for advice
Yeah, Microsoft makes some pretty strange decisions about how Windows should be developed. They don’t fix major problems, and then you see changelogs for Windows 11 Insider releases with 43 weekly changes to the search icon or the position of the volume slider… pretty pointless.
Yeah ajjajaja, I updated Windows like 500 times this year, and not a single line of those updates fixed any major issues? That’s just sad.
How do I solve this? I’ve tried deleting temp files, restarting the computer, and shutting it on and off, but I had to use task manager to end the reset process because it just freezes and stays there.
You solve it by doing a clean install. The built-in reset feature is only good at messing up the reset itself.
Thank you, I opened the bot and found the Win11 guide. Have a nice day!
