Why is my second monitor detected but not showing anything?

I just got a second monitor a few days ago, but it’s not displaying anything. It’s strange because both Windows device manager and the NVIDIA control panel say the monitor is there and working properly. I can even stream the second monitor via Discord, and it shows everything that should be displayed. I tried replacing the HDMI cable, but the issue persists. Any ideas on how to fix this? (I’m using an NVIDIA GeForce 3060Ti)

This might be a simple fix. Have you tried checking the display settings in Windows? Sometimes, the second monitor needs to be set as an extended display or the primary display.

I checked the display settings, and it’s set to extend. I also tried switching the primary display, but it didn’t help.

Make sure to check the input source on your monitor as well. It might be set to the wrong input.

Sounds like a driver issue. Have you updated your graphics drivers? Sometimes that can resolve display issues with additional monitors.

I updated the drivers when I first set up the second monitor. I’ll check again to see if there’s a newer version.

You might want to try a different port on your GPU. If you have multiple HDMI or DisplayPort outputs, try switching to another one to see if that helps.

That’s a good idea! I’ll give that a shot and see if it makes a difference.
