Bought a dowel yesterday, and the oak dowels were separate and labeled correctly.

Checked everywhere in the lumber section, no oak dowels in sight.

Check by the trim and baseboards, that’s where they are in my store.
@Hart
And inside, not in the lumber yard.

Never seen a lumber area outside in CA.
@Hart
Checked all trim aisles too, still nothing.
Well…that’s just unlucky.
Lol yeah, folks think I didn’t check every size, but I really did. All labeled hardwood, yet all pine.
@Ren
Did any of them have colored ends to show the type?

Ends were painted, but only for sizing.

Thought it was by type, not size. Like metal rods.
@Hart
Pretty sure it’s size…but now I’m second-guessing.
@Ren
I noticed downvotes too. Just FYI, the oak and “hardwood” were next to each other at my store. Fewer oak options though.

Going back to check again today, might post a pic of the whole display.
Weird to see it in the wrong place.

But it was every single square and round dowel labeled as hardwood.

Took a photo of the 1" because the 3/4 sticker was missing. All of them pine.
When I worked at HD, oak dowels were on one side, pine on the other.
Most people couldn’t tell them apart.
