Yeah, driving around the same town every day doesn’t sound so fun

Listening to a lot of ugly loud noise

Only after snow storms, which aren’t very often, and it’s good money for vehicles and drivers that, in many cases, would otherwise be off the road over the winter
This is quite a setup for a residential street. It would take weeks to do this to a full town so maybe this is a neighborhood that pays for it? Our town plows do a great job but of course block up driveways
@Ray
This is the service that is provided to the entire town of Almonte and is covered by local taxes. The town uses a private company that pretty much does all the snow clearing work in the greater Ottawa area. In the summer, the same company is responsible for a large portion of construction in the area, so most of the equipment is used year-round
@Reed
Seems a whole lot nicer than having salty and sandy piles of snow killing the grass at the end of your driveway every year
@Reed
They do it the same way in Anchorage, AK when we get a lot. Last year when we got over 120 inches, they used the rotary plow maybe twice or three times
A few years ago, I stayed in Calgary during the winter. The side streets were not plowed at all. What a mess! 1 lane, snow just packed down by vehicles

Sweet video btw
Why do they completely remove the snow and not plow it to the side? Not enough room?

There’s a finite amount of space along the side of the street. If they’re expecting more snow, there’s a point where snow storage would start occupying travel lanes
@Ellis
My town would just reply with, sounds like a you problem

I’m wondering too. This is far better than the usual winter city plows cause they end up blocking driveways up

I’d imagine that piles of snow would take longer to melt come spring time
Nice video. Boy oh boy… I DO NOT miss this weather
Tell me ‘it takes a lot of money to live here’ without saying ‘it takes a lot of money to live here’
That’s awesome. Where do they take the snow?

I don’t live here but my dad said he thinks they take it to a large clearing out in the country. I will have to find out exactly where and send the drone up for a closer look
